The N. Gayle & Rowena Simmons Distinguished Service Award Nomination Form

The Mineral Area College Board of Trustees invites nominations for the
N. Gayle & Rowena Simmons Distinguished Service Award.

Mineral Area College alumni, employees, students, and community members contribute to the college every year. It is not that service from these individuals is unique to Mineral Area College, but the quality and depth of service can be truly impressive. Furthermore, support from alumni, employees, students and the community is one of the resources on which Mineral Area College depends to ensure our college remains a leader in higher education.

To honor the most outstanding of these gifts of service, the Mineral Area College Board of Trustees presents The N. Gayle & Rowena Simmons Distinguished Service Award. The award aims to highlight and celebrate unselfish service and support to Mineral Area College. The N. Gayle & Rowena Simmons Distinguished Service Award is one of the highest honors the Mineral Area College Board of Trustees can bestow upon alumni, employees, students, and community members on behalf of the college.

CRITERIA 1. Level of Commitment: The committee will evaluate the level of dedication to the college, depth of involvement, and the amount of time committed as a volunteer. Service of all types will be considered, whether it is time spent with Mineral Area College students as a mentor, providing leadership for issues relevant to the college's mission, financially supporting Mineral Area College or its Foundation, or serving the college in a unique capacity. 2. Actions Taken in Support of Mineral Area College: The committee will seek service which helps preserve, maintain and promote the traditions of Mineral Area College and the endeavors of the Mineral Area College Foundation. 3. Impact: Volunteer service will also be evaluated based on its impact to the college and/or Mineral Area College Foundation.
